NuggMD, the leading telemedicine platform for cannabis in the United States, has announced a initiative to offer free online medical marijuana evaluations to veterans from November 7 to November 11. This initiative targets the significant rates of PTSD, ranging from 10% to 30% among war-time veterans, and the 31% who struggle with chronic pain. Despite cannabis being illegal at the federal level, 38 states and several U.S. territories have legalized its use for treating qualifying medical conditions, including PTSD and chronic pain.
Bobby Brock, vice president of marketing at NuggMD, emphasized the company's stance on cannabis freedom for all adults and called on the cannabis industry and policymakers to support veterans. The free evaluations are available to veterans residing in the 28 markets NuggMD serves, requiring valid proof of service and state-issued identification. Veterans can schedule their appointments via NuggMD's platform, available from 8 AM to 10 PM in their local time zone. Additionally, spouses of veterans are eligible for a 25% discount under the same conditions.
Since its inception in 2016, NuggMD has facilitated over two million patient connections with qualified medical cannabis doctors, underscoring its commitment to improving access to medical cannabis for those in need. This initiative not only highlights the potential of cannabis in enhancing the quality of life for veterans but also reflects the growing recognition of cannabis's therapeutic benefits in the medical community.
